Prairie Flower Crafts, in Alden, Kansas, is owned by Sara Fair Sleeper. In May of 1970 she bought the Alden Mercantile Store, transforming one half of the store into the Alden Village Grocery and the other half into a small fabric shop--Prairie Flower Crafts.

In the beginning, she stocked the store with 100% cotton fabric, calico prints from Ely & Walker along with patterns and quilting supplies from Yours Truly. Today, Prairie Flower Crafts has taken over the grocery and then some. The store has seven rooms brimming with fabric, notions and quilting supplies. Quilters come from near and far for the outstanding selection of fabric and the personalized service they receive.

Our store hours are 10am to 4:30pm Monday to Saturday.
